Pastor Roger was called into the ministry at the age of 16 and has served in ministry since 1967 as Youth Pastor, Minister of Music, Administrative Pastor, Music Evangelist, Interim Pastor, and Senior Pastor. Pastor Roger has served the local church and the District Ministry of the church in
California ,
Colorado ,
Arizona , and
Texas . He currently serves as Senior Pastor at
Community
Fellowship
Church of the Nazarene in
Waco ,
Texas .
He has a passion to see revival come to the church again - a revival of servant hood and spiritual leadership. He desires to see a revived church that reaches beyond generational boundaries, beyond its four walls, and into the lives of a culture that needs someone to care and love them where they are.
Pastor Roger is married to Kris. Kris works for Midway ISD, loves to scrapbook, make homemade cards and spend time with their grandchildren, Caleb and Maddie. Roger and Kris have two children, Jennifer, married 6 years to David, living in
Oklahoma with their son, Caleb and daughter, Maddie and are very active in the music, youth and children’s ministry of Lake Overholzer Church of the Nazarene. Their son, Brent, married Megan and is now serving as Youth Pastor at
Georgetown
Church of the Nazarene. Both children are graduates of Southern Nazarene University.
Pastor Roger likes to write and read and has stayed active as a High School Basketball referee for the last 22 years which has become a genuine outreach to many people from fellow referees to parents and players. He has a heart for touching the community and while serving as Pastor in
Big Spring ,
Texas , served as a Vice President in the Chamber of Commerce. Now serving in
Waco , he was recently appointed the director of the Urban Church Coalition, a group of community leaders and pastors sharing a unified heart for the needs of the community. He also served on the Board of Directors for KBDE/KSUR, American Family Radio in
Waco , where he also hosted an afternoon radio broadcast for a short time.
